Please review our Frequently Asked Questions or feel free to reach out to us via our online contact form. Please note, that information below is subject to change during Covid-19. Check for updates on our social media pages or call our brewery: 518-336-0766 if you have any questions.

When are you open?

We are open year-round on Fridays and Saturdays only. As of now, our current hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 5-9 pm. We close for Christmas and New Years.

Where are you located?

We are located at 174 Middle Road in Nassau, New York on a residential farm road.

From Albany, take 90E to exit 11E to merge onto US-20 E/U.S. 9 S toward Nassau. Continue on 20 E into the town of Nassau. Once there, make a right onto Chatham Street and a quick left onto Malden Street. Continue onto Malden Bridge Road (1.8 mi) and then make a left onto Jefferson Hill Road. The brewery is down the road on the right.

From Chatham, at the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit onto NY-66 N/Center St. Continue to follow 66 (8.7 mi) and make a sharp left onto Albany Turnpike/Malden Bridge Road. In a mile, turn right onto Jefferson Hill Road. The brewery is down the road on the right.

From Pittsfield, Massachusetts take 20 W (18 mi.) and make a left onto 66 S. Turn right to stay on NY-66 S (3 mi.). Make a sharp left onto Pratt Rd ( 0.2 mi) and continue onto Middle Rd (1.2 mi). The brewery will be on your right.

S&S Brewery is located at the heart of Sanford Farm and is operating out of the family's old dairy barn. Once you see the silos, you’ll know you've arrived!

Is the farm you are located on (Sanford Farm) still in operation?

Yes, the farm is still in operation, making hay and raising a small herd of beef cows. We also have other animals on the farm, such as donkeys, a horse, chickens, dogs and cats. Being a farm, all of the equipment and barns outside of the brewery are used for farming operations and we ask that folks kindly respect these areas and not wander outside of the brewery property. Additionally, please be mindful that the fences around our animals are electric and on at all times.

Being a farm brewery, do you grow your own ingredients for your beers?

As a farm brewery, 60% of the ingredients used in our beers are grown in New York State. We do our best to source our ingredients locally, and from places that adhere to sustainable and ecologically responsible growing methods.  (check out our "About” page to learn more about the farmers with whom we partner). Oh and yes, we also grow a percentage of the ingredients in our beer as well as forage some of the ingredients (mushrooms) as well. This amount fluctuates and is dependent upon the year's growing season. Part of our farming practice is to nurture and replenish the fields that are growing our products. One way we do this is by cover cropping, or planting beneficial plants that will put nutrients back in to the soil. Years we decide to do this will take barley out of rotation for the season.

We love to talk about the ingredients that go into each of our beers and try our best to offer a description of these ingredients and their place of origin for each recipe. Want to know more? Just ask us!

What is the environment like at S&S Brewery?

While we are year-round establishment, the experience you have at our brewery may change throughout the year.  During the warmer season, we offer an ample outdoor seating space with picnic tables, an outdoor stage and playground for children just outside of our taproom. While we always offer food each night we are open, during our busier nights we increase the number of food vendors to offer more variety and also offer dessert options on many occasions. Some nights feel like a large family picnic while others like a community block party.

During the cooler season, our taproom built into our restored dairy barn space provides seating in a more intimate setting. We still offer live music and food options.

Do you take reservations?

Unfortunately, we do not take reservations, but you are welcome to come slightly before opening hours to find seating if you will be coming out with a larger group of people. Please be mindful that our taproom space is much smaller then our outdoor seating. If you are planning on coming with a large group of people, please call or write ahead to inform us so we can do our best to accommodate you.

Do you host private events?

Yes, we most certainly do! Please contact us at: info@sandsbrewery.com for our taproom rental information.

What is your dog policy?

As much as we love our dogs, we ask that you kindly leave your furry friends at home, especially during our busy summer season. We will, of course, make exceptions for service dogs.

Can we bring our children?

Absolutely! We are a family-friendly establishment and welcome families with kids of all ages. We even have a playground on-site that is fenced-in and open during our hours of operation. With this being said, this is a play-at-your-own-risk area and we ask that parents or guardians please, please keep an eye on their children at all times and make sure their children are playing in the designated playyard.

Do you offer food?

Yes! Every night we are open we will have food available. We host a wide variety of food trucks and vendors that rotate throughout the year. Each weekend is a different vendor. Feel free to check out our event page, Facebook or Instagram to see what food will be available the night you are planning on coming out. Additionally, we post our food vendor's menu a few days in advance on Facebook.

Do you have music?

We most definitely do! Every night we are open we have live music covering all genres. Again, feel free to check out our event page, Facebook or Instagram to see who will be playing in advance.

Do you offer tours?

We love giving tours! Contact us and let us know when you are planning on coming out and we will do our best to accommodate you.
